Two Generations, One Creative Obsession
Our Story
Creativity runs in the family. Jacqueline’s background as a carpet designer for the iconic Stoddard’s Carpets meant that Lorna grew up in a world of woodwork, gnomes, and handmade clothes. It wasn’t long before that spark caught; Lorna was hooked on colors and textures from the moment she could hold a needle.
After a childhood filled with drawing and embroidery, Lorna received her first sewing machine and never looked back. Despite health challenges cutting her graphic design degree short, her passion for creating only grew stronger. Today, crafting isn’t just our business—it’s our therapy and our joy.
From Mohair Bears to The Toy Hospital
Our hobby has taken us on some wild adventures! We became award-winning mohair bear artists, using the finest German mohair, glass eyes, and traditional joints to create collectible friends. This evolved into our Restoration Hospital, where we breathe new life into cherished vintage toys.
We’ve designed everything from Scottish bears with custom tartans and tiny bagpipes to elegant wedding bears with hand-beaded dresses. If you can dream it, we’ve likely stitched, painted, or sculpted it.
Our “Treasure Cave”
We admit it: we’re addicted to craft supplies! Whether it’s a luxury fabric at £120 a meter or a beautiful piece of driftwood found on a Stranraer beach, we see potential in everything. Our studio is a “cave of jewels” filled with:
Textiles: Leather, suede, and fine silks.
Media: Paints, archival inks, dyes, and clay.
Tech: Sublimation, foiling, and glasswork.
Life by the Sea
Based in beautiful Stranraer, we share our lives with our beloved dogs and parrots. We find constant inspiration in the local wildlife, the sea air, and our vibrant community. Every piece we make is unique, designed from our own patterns, and crafted with love.
